And perhaps they are correct. This race has given states that never really counted at this point in other races a voice.

That said... I was listening to NPR and heard a poll saying that over 20% of Hillary supporters said that if Obama got the nomination he/she would vote for McCaine; and visa-versa. What a scary prospect! Of course we are still far from November and tensions are high in this race, but it makes me question the amount of good this knock-down drag-out fight is doing for our party as a whole.

Will Obama and Hillary tear the party apart?

Let Me Introduce Myself

Hello!

My name is Kelsey Eisenberg.

As a Jew and a progressive democrat, growing up and living in Utah hasn't always been easy. In the last few years, however, the democratic party seems to have sprouted wings in Utah. After working on the Kerry campaign in 2004, and the Edwards campaign in 2007 I was thoroughly convinced that the only way to bring change was to take an active role in local and national politics. This year I graduated from a small boarding school in Kalispell, Montana and I am now working as the Assistant Communications Director for the Utah Democratic Party.

This blog isn't to spout "propaganda" of the party nor to push any agenda. It is simply a forum to talk about democratic issues.

Now, I must admit, local politics aren't always a hot topic, nor much of a draw for young voters or voters at all. This year, a state and federal election year, is the perfect time to try to get involved on all levels.

What change do you want to see?
